The Sibling Project-Hayden and Austin- May

So it’s the second month of doing the sibling project. I have to say it hasn’t always been that easy to get photos of them together before Hayden starts smacking Austin or poking him in the face, and Austin then crying!

What have we been up to the past month?

We have had quite a busy month really. We had a family weekend in Frome with extended family, a couple of weeks ago. It was lovely to see all the cousins/second cousins together, especially during the giant easter egg hunt! It was also good encouragement for Hayden’s walking, seeing all the other walking and running.

Whilst we were there we got to go swimming lots too. It was Austins first time in a pool, and probably a touch too cold for him really (he did have his body warmer on though). It’s always hard to tell with newborns if they are enjoying things or not, but I’m pretty sure it did like it! Hayden as ever absolutely loves it in the water, and seems to have no fear jumping off the steps and side into Daddy! I can’t wait to see them both and their cousin Oscar in the Pool on holiday in Turkey next month!!

I Started looking after the boys by myself more this past month now I’ve recovered from my caesarean section. This has been pretty tough (blog post on surviving my first week coming soon!), but we are starting to find a routine of sorts.

Hayden is still keen on Austin, giving hugs and kisses, which are mostly gentle but sometimes inadvertently not so gentle! He is also finding it harder I think since it’s just the 3 of us during the day, often having to wait until I’ve seen to Austin for me to play with him. All of which I am feeling pretty guilty about, but there’s not really a way round it I don’t think.

The Photos for the month..

Anyway, the sibling pictures I’ve chosen this month are from a rainy afternoon stuck in the house last week whilst they were in their matching outfits!! I love these pictures partly because I think they both look super cute in the outfits but also because Hayden for the most part was being really sweet trying to show Austin how to play with Thomas and trying to Kiss him! Plus they feature my fab (if I don’t say so myself!) mustard Ikea armchair which I love!!

Hope you have enjoyed our little sibling update this month and the photos. We look forward to sharing more adventures next month!

Your photos are so cute, I like the one where Austin is trying to “eat” his brother!! I don’t think there’s any real way of juggling two little ones on your own, apart from finding your own routine. It does take time but you’ll find your groove!
